Two of the state’s biggest chambers of commerce are hosting their business expos back to back, on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Portland Regional Chamber will hold its 2012 Greater Portland Business Expo from noon to 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn by the Bay. Not only is there an exhibition hall, but the chamber has a number of seminars set for the day, with the first one – an entrepreneurs’ roundtable featuring Luke Livingston of Baxter Brewing, Becky McKinnell of iBec Creative and Geoffrey Minte of Local Thunder – starting at 12:30.
That will be followed by a session on developing internships at 1:30, and then a seminar on developing business goals at 2:30.
And on Thursday, the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Business Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bangor Civic Center.
There’s roughly 100 businesses and organizations from the region at the exposition, and the Bangor chamber is also hosting several seminars.
Rich Brooks of flyte in Portland is presenting two sessions. The first is “Building your Business with Social Media,” from 9-10 a.m., and the second is “Turning Fans into Customers: Generating Leads from Social Media, from 10-11.
And local biz maven (and deputy commissioner at the state Department of Economic and Community Development) Deb Neuman is hosting speed networking sessions at 12 & 2 p.m.
