Cross Insurance, Red Sox announce partnership

Bangor-based Cross Insurance has announced that it is the “official insurance broker” of the Boston Red Sox through a two-year partnership.

Cross, which has been on an acquisition tear throughout New England over the past year or so, will have its signage up at Fenway during the 2012-2013 baseball season on the video board. There will also be a Cross marketing presence at other events taking place at Fenway Park, such as Frozen Fenway and select Fenway Park 100th Anniversary celebrations, and the firm will have access to various hospitality benefits throughout the season.

“As a life-long fan of the Boston Red Sox, I couldn’t be more proud to partner with such an iconic brand and organization,” said Brent Cross, executive vice president, Cross Insurance, in a release. “Cross Insurance has been a force in northern New England for decades and now as we continue to expand our presence in the Greater Boston area, there is no better way to solidify that presence than by creating what we know will be a valuable relationship with the Boston Red Sox.”

Last year, Cross acquired Watson Insurance Agency of Manchester N.H., Mazonson Insurance and Thomas Gregory Associates Insurance Agency, both in Wakefield, Mass.

Cross employees more than 400 people in New England, and is one of the region’s largest insurance companies.
