Disney Institute back in Bangor this week

The Mouse is back in the house.

The Disney Institute is coming back to Bangor Wednesday following its visit last September. No, we admit that Mickey won’t be doing any presentations, but business folks can learn a lot from the session “Disney’s Approach to Quality Service.”

The Disney Institute is coming to the region in partnership with the Eastern Maine Development Corp. to host the presentation at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bangor, starting at 7:30 a.m. The workshop is open to the public; registration is $299 per person and includes breakfast and lunch. Registration is available online at www.emdc.org or by phone at 207-942-6389.

According to EMDC, this workshop will differ from last September’s session, because it will focus on “providing the very best in customer service, no matter what the business.”

“We had an overwhelmingly positive response last fall and saw an opportunity to build on what was presented in that program,” said Michael Aube, president and CEO of EMDC, in a release. “Quality service is essential to the success of any business. Every business has customers, both internal and external, and Disney has certainly proven that they are among the best in quality customer service.”

The Institute is also doing an invite-only event on Thursday, according to EMDC.

From the release:

In addition to Wednesday’s event, Bangor Savings Bank, together with EMDC, is hosting a half day session featuring highlights from Disney Institute’s “Disney’s Approach to Quality Service” program on Thursday, April 12.

Seventy-five job seekers enrolled in EMDC’s Workforce Program through the Workforce Investment Act have been invited and will receive certificates they can add to their resumes. In addition to the Disney Institute session Human Resources professionals from local companies will serve as panelists for a discussion on question and answer period aimed at helping job seekers navigate today’s extremely competitive job market. The Thursday session runs from 8:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and will also be at Bangor’s Hilton Garden Inn.
